Obstacles Facing African Americans
Last week, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued a comprehensive report addressing major obstacles hindering equal opportunities for African Americans in the federal work force.
Similar to my findings in Recruiting and Retaining a Diverse Workforce: New Rules for a New Generation, the report found that the lack of informal mentors and unconscious bias were huge barriers to advancement. Click here to read the EEOC's report.
